We bet you can’t wait to pack up and head to the campsite! What’s it gonna be this time? Your favourite camping place or somewhere new, where adventures and explorations await?

Whether you’ve done this a million times before or you’re a beginner camper, one thing is for sure: You need a checklist! Forgetting basic equipment can happen to anyone, and it often causes frustration, taking away from all the fun and joy of camping.

To help you get organized for the ultimate camping experience, we’ve created an easy and practical checklist for you. Of course, not everything is for everyone, so feel free to add some more items or even scrap some of the existing ones, to personalize your checklist!

So here it goes!

The basics: To put it in another way, the ones you either take with you or you can’t camp at all! Here’s a list of them:

• Your tent – It can be a two-person tent, a four-person or even a six-person one
• Tent pegs, stakes, rope and hammer to pitch your tent
• A sleeping bag, folding bed or air bed– Don’t forget the air pump in that case!
• A flashlight and a stand light
• An insecticide or animal repellent
• Camping chairs and table

Unless you plan to head to the nearest restaurant for your breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a light snack, you need to be ready for preparing your own meal at the campsite! What you will need:

• A gas stove or gas cooker
• A gas lighter or matches
• Your pots and pans
• Your frappe mixer
• Cooking utensils
• A cutting board
• A sharp knife
• Disposable tableware and cups
• Food trays
• Trash bags and recycling bags
• Sponge and soap
• Towels and kitchen paper
• Aluminum foil
• Containers for food storage
• Your cooler
• And of course, don’t forget the food, coffee and refreshments!

Just imagine arriving at the campsite and realizing that… you don’t have any toilet paper at all! That would be kind of upsetting, wouldn’t it? Health and hygiene are two factors you can’t ignore when packing up for camping. Here’s what you will need:

• Toilet paper – We believe we made our point clear on this one!
• Handwash
• Hand sanitizer
• Toothbrush and toothpaste
• Sunscreen and hat
• Deodorant
• Portable toilet
• Camping shower
• Clean clothes and underwear – Don’t forget your swim suit by the way!
• Towels
• First aid kit
• A backpack for exciting explorations
• Any medication you may need

You never know what might happen during camping, so in case there’s damage on your tent, something wrong with your mattress etc., you need to be ready to fix it! Our view on this? Better be proactive and save the day! What you’ll need:

• A swiss army knife
• Duct tape
• A mattress repair kit
• A tent repair kit
• A shovel and an axe

Who says camping is all about hardcore outdoor survival? Ok, for some people that’s the point and that’s when adrenaline kicks in! For some others though, a little comfort and luxury make things prettier! So, the choice is yours! Either way, here are our “extras”:

• A guitar – If it’s not you, then there must be someone who plays the guitar amongst your “camping companions”!
• A karaoke speaker – The… louder alternative of the guitar!
• A football and sport net for the athletic ones!
• A hammock for the lazy times of the day!
• A book
• Fishing gear
• And of course, your cell phone and power bank!

 As camping enthusiasts say, “life is best when you’re camping”!
